Well, I told my mom, if I ever wrote a blog about crafts, I would call it Crewel & Unusual.  Then I thought, what if my title is taken?!?  So I got in here, and it wasn't taken yet, so I took it!  But deep in my heart, I knew I would never write a blog about crafts.  I could fill a blog with Things I Like or What I Don't Know, but I have about a thimble full of crafts-related inspiration.  No matter!  This is where my pun comes in SO handy.  "Unusual" is a really broad, vague, practically all-encompassing topic.  Why would I write a blog about usual things anyway?  There's no such thing as typically noteworthy.  So I imagine my blog will be about 2% crafts and 98% unusual.

Here's your infotainment:  Crewel is a worsted yarn for embroidery and edging.

The pics above are of my crewelwork, made with my crewel kit!  I got this kit from my mom, who got it from her mom, so lets say this kit is easily from the 70's, and never done.  Until now.  I started it about 4 years ago, so you can see I've made a lot of progress...  lol.  But I do enjoy it.  If I ever finish this kit, and the one or two others I've been hoarding keeping, that post will be titled, "Goodbye, crewel world."  Such a versatile pun!
